DARTMOUTH, MA – A new trend in farming and vegetable gardening is managing the biology, mineralogy, and energetic dimensions of soils to help grow more nutritious, more abundant, and tastier foods to nurture healthier human lives.
On Tuesday, November 30, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Friends Academy in the Commons Building at 1088 Tucker Road in North Dartmouth, professional organic farmer and director of the Real Food …Campaign, Dan Kittredge, will give a free public lecture, addressing methods of building vitality in soils and crops and understanding the complex relationship between soil conditions, crop nutrition, and human health. The event is co-sponsored by the Real Food Campaign, Northeast Organic Farming Association/ Massachusetts Chapter (NOFA/Mass), and Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP).
The talk is an introduction to a five-session course on Nutrient Dense Crop Production with classroom instruction that will be held at Friends Academy with field demonstrations one mile away at Brix Bounty Farm.
