Lolans Farm in Middleboro, MA, is a third-generation dairy farm -- a distinction that is becoming ever rarer as family farms are disappearing. The farm buildings and appearance are so reminiscent of another era that the farm was actually selected as a site for filming the new biopic Tony about Anthony Bourdain's early years.

Sam and Sue Shields are the current owners. Sue’s grandparents bought the farm in 1946. While previous generations sold wholesale, the Shields' have turned their farm into a raw milk dairy that sells directly to customers, and this shift has transformed the business, and helped it continue to survive into another era. 

In addition to raw milk, they produce beef, eggs, and seasonal vegetables, all of which are sold at their onsite farmstand.

As if that weren't enough, they also grow pumpkins and will have cornstalks available in the fall. Lolan's farm is certainly worth a visit, to shop their farm stand stocked with local goods and take in the scenery, now immortalized as a fictional dairy farm in the film.
