2023 NOFA/Mass Winter Conference at Worcester State
January 14 @ 8:00 am - January 15 @ 4:00 pm$130
The 2023 NOFA/Mass Winter Conference is the 36th annual winter gathering of the Massachusetts chapter of the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
NOFA/Mass is a non-profit organization of small-scale farmers, gardeners, consumers and food system reformers. NOFA promote healthy food, organic growing practices and climate solutions through regenerative agriculture and land stewardship.
This year, the NOFA/Mass Winter Conference will be held in person at Worcester State University (WSU) and online on Saturday, January 14 and online only on Sunday, January 15.
The conference will be making good use of WSU’s state-of-the-art remote learning technology to create an interactive hybrid workshop experience for online attendees to participate alongside in-person attendees during live sessions on Saturday.
Saturday will be a full day of workshops and caucus discussions culminating in a keynote address from speaker Ira Wallace.
On Sunday we’ll have online roundtable discussions about our regional food system and explore ways we can work together to make improvements through organizational collaborations and advocacy around the 2023 Farm Bill.
Keynote speaker Ira Wallace will walk us through the history, present and future of her cooperative work with Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, Acorn Community Farm and other cooperative models. Throughout the weekend, we’ll explore how cooperative practices, from business structure to Indigenous philosophy, can break the cycle of extraction and exploitation as we grow into a more collaborative future.
