New England Pastured Poultry Day
June 25, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
$10 – $20Spend a day with New England pastured poultry producers. This community day is a networking opportunity to meet with other pastured poultry farmers in the region, form alliances, learn from each other, and build relationships.
All experience levels welcome. If you questions about getting started or getting better, bring them.
Our host farm, Pat’s Pastured raises broilers (10,000), hens (1,800), turkeys (500), laying ducks (200), meat ducks (200). They run a mobile processing unit and opening an inspected processing facility. They direct market their products via various channels, including on-farm, farmers market, and their own food truck.
The emphasis of the day will be on collaboration, group discussion and problem solving. Bring your questions, your ideas, your challenges, and your successes. Be prepared to share.
Be ready to build relationships with pastured poultry producers.
- Walk the farm and get an up close look at Pat’s operation from the brooder to the processing.
- Share problems, solutions, and opportunities with your peers.
- Discuss local pastured poultry challenges with the people best suited to assist: your neighboring farmers.
