“Nutrition, Microbiome & the Root of Chronic Disease” hosted by NOFA/Mass & The Marion Institute
April 29, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$34 – $42Kathleen DiChiara is a former Fortune 500 corporate executive and triathlete whose health took a sudden debilitating turn toward chronic pain and disease at the same time as her son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. After learning and experimenting with nutrition-based approaches to her illness, Kathleen was able to heal herself and her family through a dietary approach that focused on reducing inflammation and supporting the body’s microbiome.
Inspired, she went on to change careers and commit to re-educating herself about nutrition, gut health, and the food system. In that process, she became an advocate, educator, and activist devoted to changing the way we think about the connection between food and wellness.
In this event, Kathleen will draw on her personal experience, her studies, and her practice as a nutritionist to guide participants through a new approach to thinking about nutrition and the roots of chronic disease – how what we eat influences our gut health, immune function and therefore our long-term health.
Kathleen DiChiara is an Integrative Health and Nutrition Coach, Nutrition Educator and Author of the bestselling book, The Hidden Connection, and is the subject of a new documentary film, Secret Ingredients. She received specialized training in biochemistry and specialized diets for autism, allergies, autoimmune and other chronic conditions and is a professionally trained chef. She mentors and teaches healthcare practitioners all over the world through online courses and individual case studies. She serves on the board of the Rhode Island Department of Health and is board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
