Young Farmer Night at Rosasharn Farm

SEMAP is teaming up with the Young Farmer Network to put on this networking and learning event! Please join us for our upcoming Young Farmer Night Saturday, May 25th starting at 5:00pm, at Rosasharn Farm, 57 County St, Rehoboth, MA 02769, You are welcome to join for any and all of the event!
As a group, we will take a tour of Rosasharn Farm and learn about a diversified family operation consisting of a veggie CSA, Nigerian dwarf goats and livestock guardian dogs. Something special about Rosasharn Farm is that it is one of the first farms to have hosted a Young Farmers Night through The Young Farmer Network! We’ll be celebrating with a bonfire and potluck to follow :] Bring instruments if you have them and a tasty treat to share if it’s in your capacity.

Rosasharn Farm:
Rosasharn Farm is a diversified family farm known best for its nationally recognized herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goats, and Livestock Guardian Dogs. It also has a vegetable CSA focusing on regenerative farming and providing high quality local vegetables. As well as raising other small livestock for family and CSA members.
Young Farmer Network:
The Young Farmer Network (YFN) connects farmers, aspiring farmers, and farm allies from all social, racial, and economic backgrounds. Our mission is to create an environment within which people of all ages and agricultural backgrounds can cultivate personal and professional relationships across state borders. We work towards a supportive landscape for farmers and prospective farmers in developing socially, ecologically, and economically sustainable farm businesses and fulfilling lives.
SEMAP:
SEMAP is a Buy Local organization for Southeastern Massachusetts. The mission of SEMAP is to further a regional food system that is equitable, resilient and accessible. We envision a healthy region where local food is available in abundance, farmers lead thriving and successful businesses and lives, and our regional food economy is robust and supports all of our local food producers. We offer 1-on-1 assistance for farmers and fishers, workshops, an annual conference, and promotion of local food to consumers.

Mental Health Services, Childcare, & Interpreter Services
A licensed mental health counselor will be available on-site for anyone who wants to chat about stressors & challenges, discuss changes on the farm, learn quick coping mechanisms, or share anything that’s on your mind. Step aside and go for a walk, chat during the potluck, or grab their business card to follow up later.
