Rich and Healthy: No-till for Successful Farms and Gardens

Are you a farmer or experienced gardener seeking to start or transition to no-till methods that use simple tools, build healthy soil, reduce labor and cost inputs, promote climate resilience and increase your connection to the land? You’ll learn and practice several no-till techniques- cardboard method, tarping, and cover crops- in this experiential, day-long workshop.  Seasoned, passionate Seeds of Solidarity farmer Ricky Baruc will engage participants in how to. Soil science researchers Caro Roszell from American Farmland Trust and UMASS PhD candidate Alexa Smychkovich will discuss and demonstrate the impact of no-till agroecological methods on building healthy soil.
