Bristol Community College is seeking an instructor for the fall 2017 semester course in Organic Pest & Disease Management (AGR 123). The course is a 2 credit elective in our Sustainable Agriculture program and is directed towards agriculture students, pest management professionals, farmers, landscapers, and gardeners.. The course meets every Monday from 6 – 8:50 pm from Sept. 11 until Dec. 18. The successful candidate for this position will have at least a Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Biology or related field or a similar Bachelor’s Degree with relevant professional experience teaching and field work. Compensation is based on our contractual rate for adjunct faculty ($2,132 for a 2 credit course).
The course description is:
“This course focuses on the prevention, detection, and organic controls of plant pests and diseases. Content includes a survey or principle plant pests and diseases, their biology and life cycles, impacts, disease symptoms, and controls. An introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is included. Control methods will include cultural practices as well as biological and organic chemical methods.”
