Animal Science Child Enrichment Workshop at Bristol Aggie

$25 – $35

Does your child love animals and want a hands-on learning experience? Let the staff and students of Bristol Aggie teach your child all about different species of animals. Children will be amazed at all the different opportunities they will have in these hands-on educational workshops. Each workshop will run from 8:30-12:30 on selected dates. Space is limited and registration is on a first come first serve basis and is non-refundable. Discounts will be given to groups registering with more than 5 students. Lunch is not provided but a peanut/nut free snack and drink may be brought by your child. Registration fees are due at the time of registering and are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by BCAHS.

 

Workshop Offerings

Slithering Creatures: This workshop is for students that want to learn more about reptiles, amphibians and fish. Throughout the workshop students will learn about and handle the reptiles and amphibians that we have at Bristol Aggie including gheckos, skink, bearded dragon, turtles and more. Our students will show you how to set up and care for a fish tank for aquatic species. Ages 5-10

Rabbits and Guinea Pigs: This workshop is for students that would like to learn more about the species of rabbits and guinea pigs. Learn their uniqueness, how to handle them properly and care for them. Rabbits and Guinea Pigs make awesome pets if cared for properly. Your child will get plenty of hands on experience with them throughout the day. Ages 5-14

Star Farmer: Spend the day working hard on the farm! Students will get an in-depth look at the true workings of a farm. Activities will include halter walking our dairy calves, feeding animals, collecting eggs, grooming animals, learning how we milk our cows, and alot more! Come dressed for working with your favorite pair of boots! Ages 5-14 (students will be split up according to age level)

Horsemanship: Students will spend the day learning all about horses. Horse behavior, care and management will be discussed. Students will participate in barn chores, grooming and some riding. Bring your boots! Ages 5-10
Some workshops are held outside, please dress your child for the weather, bring hats, gloves, etc.
