Farmers, community growers, home growers, and gardeners are invited to join NOFA-RI for a FREE Organic Farming Panel Discussion on Sunday, October 21, from 1 – 4 pm at the South Kingstown Land Trust Barn.  4 Farms, 4 Women, Organic and Sustainable  Methods.

Date and Time:  Sunday, October 21, 2018. 1-4 PM
Location: South Kingstown Land Trust Barn, 17 Matunuck Beach Road.
South Kingstown, RI 02879
Cost: FREE.  RSVP on this Eventbrite link.

Join NOFA-RI for a panel discussion of organic farming as we hear from four knowledgeable farmers with 45 years of combined experience in organic and sustainable farming. Is it a sign of the times that they are all women?

Hosted at South Kingstown Land Trust Barn, the panel features Camille Abdel-Nabi of Little River Farm, Diana Kushner of Arcadian Fields, Kelli Roberts of Roots Farm and Sarah Turkus of Sidewalk Ends Farm and the Young Farmer Network, with Kate Goodson of NOFA RI moderating.

The panel of farmers will share their approaches and insights into the challenges and successes building an organic farm business with ample time for questions and discussion from the audience. Additional topics open for discussion include thoughts on embracing technology, land access, farm management and marketing, crop planning, recordkeeping, and more! This panel discussion should appeal to farmers, beginning or advanced looking to transition to organic and the general public interested in organic farming.

Please bring a non-perishable item or canned good to donate to the RI Community Food Bank.
