Gathering of Good Graziers Conference

January 25 - January 27

The Gathering of Good Graziers Conference will be held on January 25th – 27th, 2024 at UMass in Amherst – face to face for the first time since the pandemic!

They are delighted to announce that Mark Schatzker: author of “Steak”, “Dorito Effect” & “End of Craving” will keynote the conference. He will participate on Friday and Saturday. He will share nuggets of wisdom he has gained since publishing Steak and give everyone a taste of his new book, End of Craving. The conference will also include workshops by regional grazing experts (Cheryl Cesario, Troy Bishopp, Daiman Meeh, Meghan Giroux, Abe Collins …) as well as practical farmer panels on all topics grazing!

The conference will be a hybrid event which will allow us to meet people where they are at – literally. Folks can join face to face or from the comfort of their own home. Choose your own adventure!

This year, the conference is a collaboration between several grazing-focused organizations: The New England Grazing Network, Northeast Pasture Consortium, Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment, Granite State Grazers, The Livestock Institute of Southern New England, American Farmland Trust, University of Vermont Center for Sustainable Agriculture, UMaine Extension, Cornell Cooperative Extension Capital Area Ag & Hort. Program, USDA – NRCS NH, to hold a region wide conference.

This expects to be a gathering of farmers and service providers from all across New England and New York. This conference is formerly known as the Northeast Grazing and Livestock Conference.
