Honey Bee Education Days at State Apiaries

Join the Bee Team from MDAR’s Apiary Program to get a tour of live working honey bee colonies, hands-on demonstrations of colony management techniques, and exposure to the latest knowledge on how to best sustain honey bee health in the Commonwealth. 2 locations.

Events will be held in person and are free and open to the public, no (pre)registration required. Educational components will focus on topics of interest to beekeepers and regional management techniques. Events are canceled during inclement weather (i.e. heavy wind, rain, temperatures <55°F or >95°F). Note that the same event will be held at each location on each date unless indicated otherwise below*:

1. University of Massachusetts – Agricultural Learning Center (ALC) farm
   911 North Pleasant St
   Amherst, MA  01002
   Drive directly into field to park adjacent to apiary/sheds.

2. Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School (Essex Aggie)
   565 Maple St (use 562 Maple Street address for navigation)
   Danvers, MA  01923
   Park along paved road behind old administration building located on other side of road across from main campus buildings, then walk down hill to apiary location.
