The Martin House Farm is a rare example of an 18th and early 19th century farm which still retains the character of its original setting. It consists of the house, two barns and cultivated fields surrounded by dry stone walls and woodlands.
From 1-4pm, George Whitley from Grays Grist Mill will be in the barn demonstrating corn shelling, shucking and grinding. He will have Johnny Bread samples and recipes. Nan Szenher will be demonstrating the weaving loom and spinning wheel as well as a offering a brief history of Swansea’s textile industry during the 18th Century.
Martin House Farm is open Sunday’s July 8 – through September 30 from 1- 4 pm with docent led tours of this 18th Century Farmhouse. Plenty of parking, fields and barn. Lovely place to walk, have a picnic, fly a kite or bird watch.
