SEMAP Twilight Workshop: Cover Cropping and Soil Health

During the cover crop workshop, farmers at Langwater Farm will cover selection, establishment, termination and benefits of cover crops, as well as calculating plant available nitrogen.  Maggie Payne from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service will talk about the basics of how a healthy soil functions, how to assess the health of your soil, and methods of improving soil health using reduced tillage and cover crops.
