Twilight Series 2022: Soil Microbiomes w/ NOFA/MA

July 21 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

What can soil health do for a flower business? Talk with Phoebe Poole of Weatherlow Farms and hear from her how she has wandered away from conventional, chemical production of cut flowers to a growing system that is biologically centered and the rewards that have come from that shift. She will speak to no, or low till bed preparation, building soil carbon, managing pest through plant nutrition as opposed to pesticide application and inoculating seeds and transplants with beneficial microbes. Ruben Parrilla, NOFA/MA Soil Tech Coordinator, will will be on hand to model soil health testing proxies, how to conduct these, and what they mean for your plant and the soil microbiome and growing system to any farm enterprise!

This event is part of our 2022 Twilight Grower Series. You can see highlights from past events here, and view the full schedule of upcoming events here.
