CANCELED: UMass Extension: Native Pollinator Biology & Conservation – a Classroom Workshop

April 18, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$30

For full details go to UMassGarden.com.

Native pollinators are an essential resource in our wild and managed landscapes.  Come to this workshop if you’re interested in learning more about their biology and conservation.  We’ll mainly be talking about different species of bees but other types of pollinators will also be mentioned (flies, birds, bats, etc.).  We’ll learn about the different families of pollinating bees ranging from the tiny beautiful sweat bees to the big and endearing bumble bees.  We’ll learn about what they need for nesting and foraging habitats and how to create these spaces in our landscapes. A brief tour of the UMass Permaculture Garden will be included.
