Farmers often need both planning and financial support to implement new practices or add new enterprises to manage more frequent extreme weather. This webinar will showcase state, federal, and private funding programs, community lenders that can provide bridge loans for reimbursable grants, and technical assistance providers who can support planning and grant application preparation and help farmers work with federal agencies.
Presenter Margaret Christie will discuss approaches to securing grant funding, including how to decide whether to submit a proposal and tips for strengthening your application. She’ll provide an overview of available technical assistance, and representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service will be available to answer questions in breakout rooms.
Long-time CISA staffer Margaret Christie frequently gives presentations on grant sources and grant preparation for farmers and works individually with farmers to plan and prioritize projects for grant applications and to prepare grant applications. She sits on the Advisory Committee of the Pioneer Valley Grows Investment Fund, which frequently provides bridge loans to farmer grant recipients.
