Stay up to date with nut growing in New York and meet experienced growers!
All are welcome to register to attend the New York Nut Growers Association 2025 Fall Meeting on October 18 in Tompkins County. The program will take place from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with registration and breakfast starting at 8:30 and the meeting kicking off at 9:00 am. The meeting will be held at Ramble On, Harry Greene's farm at 3383 Colegrove Rd, Trumansburg, NY. Speakers and discussion topics will include Jeff Zarnowski (Establishing a Commercial Nut Orchard – the First 8 Years); Brian Caldwell (Growing Chestnuts Organically); Peter Haarmann (Cloning Hazelnut by Stooling); Bradford Smith (My Experiences Growing Chestnut and Other Nut Crops); and Bonny and Rick Monheim (50 Years of Planting and Nurturing Nut Trees: from Almonds to Walnuts).
Participants are welcome to bring items related to nut growing or nut eating to sell or share during lunch.
The New York Nut Growers Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that promotes nut tree growing in New York State. It's not necessary to be a member of the New York Nut Growers Association (NYNGA) to attend this meeting. A light breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of meeting registration, which is $20/member, $25/non-member. Pre-registration is required to facilitate meal planning. Dress comfortably for an indoor/outdoor meeting. Please check the weather in advance and plan accordingly. Signs announcing the meeting location will be placed about a quarter mile from the driveway entrance in both the east and west directions.
