Seed Starting Workshop at Nuestra Raices

Nuestras Raíces is launching our second year of the Nuestros Finqueros Training Enterprises this month! Our first workshop, where we will learn about seed starting indoors, will take place on March 25th from 10 – 11:30 AM at la Finca on 24 Jones Ferry Rd., Holyoke. Below is the full workshop calendar for the 2023 program:

NR invites commercial producers, beginner farmers, gardeners, veterans, youth, and other interested community members to attend one, two, or all workshops. Those who attend all 8 workshops will receive a stipend for tools, seeds, farmland rent, or other supplies needed for their farm, garden, or business.

All workshops are bilingual and free of charge! Participants will learn about a range of agricultural topics, receive one-on-one technical assistance from UMass experts, and get the opportunity to network and explore available resources with Nuestras Raíces’ community partners such as representatives from the USDA NRCS and FSA, Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources, and other local farmers and producers.
