Bridging the Gap: Supporting Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ Farmers Nationwide
January 20, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Food for Thought invites you to a unique learning experience on Thursday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m. ET over Zoom. During this LIVE Food for Thought event, Bridging the Gap: Supporting Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ Farmers Nationwide, we’ll introduce you to the land, practices, and people AFT collaborates with and advocates for.
Joining Julie Ann Grant, Director of Philanthropy, and AFT’s Women for the Land Director, Dr. Gabrielle Roesch-McNally will be Ebonie Alexander, Executive Director of Black Family Land Trust and AFT Board Member as well as past recipients of AFT Brighter Future Fund grants.
Next Thursday, we’ll zoom in on women farmers and the diverse new generation of producers who will thrive with the right support. Learn about AFT’s Women for the Land Initiative, operating in 18 states and counting, and discover how the Brighter Future Fund, in partnership with Tillamook County Creamery Association, is helping hundreds of underserved farmers nationwide.
Partnering with Ink Factory, we will use live illustration to demonstrate agriculture’s big picture challenges and real-life examples of AFT’s holistic approach to saving the land that sustains us!
