ABOUT THE FARM & CREW
Freedom Food Farm is an 88 acre, four season, diversified vegetable and livestock farm. We produce a wide-range of products year-round, including: over 100 varieties of vegetables, fruit, grains, medicinal herbs, honey, pasture-raised meat, heritage eggs, flowers, plant starts, hay and value-added products. Our goal is to add additional products over the next few years and eventually produce a full diet from our farm. We are committed to regenerative agriculture and never use any pesticides, herbicides, GMOs, antibiotics, hormones, or other chemicals at our farm.

LIVESTOCK MANAGER
Full-time year-round position 50-60 hours/week peak season, 40 hours off season. Start date – flexible November-February.
Qualifications:
– 2-3 years livestock farming experience and/or degree in related agricultural field preferred, minimum one year livestock farming experience
-Basic knowledge of livestock handling and husbandry including cows, sheep, chickens, hogs, goats, and turkeys
-Basic knowledge of livestock fencing set up, repair, and maintenance
-Basic tractor operation skills, experience making hay and maintaining equipment preferred
-Punctual and reliable
-Able to lift 50lbs
-Desire to accomplish farm-wide goals by communicating and working with other members of our team in a quick and efficient manner
Responsibilities:
-Implement yearly livestock plan created by farm manager
-Perform daily livestock care tasks such as feeding, watering, moving fences and livestock
-Assist in lambing, kidding, calving, farrowing, and castrating of farm livestock
-Assist in on farm hay production
-Assist in portable and permanent high tensile fence repair and maintenance
-Assist with other farm tasks such as field transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, deliveries, farmers markets, and value-added production during off peak seasons
Compensation:
-Position starts at $12-15/hr depending on experience. Free farm vegetables and grains. Discount on meat, eggs, and value added products.

ASSISTANT VEGETABLE GROWER OR HARVEST MANAGER
Seasonal or full-time year-round position for the right farmer. 50-60 hours/week peak season, 40 hours offseason. Start date – flexible.
Qualifications:
– 2-3 years farming experience and/or degree in related agricultural field preferred, minimum one year farming experience. Experience on a mid-size organic/sustainable vegetable farm preferred.
-Punctual and reliable
-Able to lift 50lbs
-Tractor operation skills are preferred
-Desire to accomplish farm-wide goals by communicating and working with other members of our team in a quick and efficient manner
Responsibilities:
Job description will vary depending on skills and experience
-Help implement yearly vegetable plan created by farm manager
-Potentially lead crew of 5-10 people in harvesting ~12 acres of diverse crops
-Harvesting, hand weeding, cultivating, field transplanting, washing, deliveries, greenhouse building, farmers markets’ and value-added production during off-peak seasons
