Seeds of Sustainability at BCC is hosting Dr. David Johnson, Molecular Biologist, Institute of Sustainable Agricultural Research, New Mexico State University on the topic of “Managing Soil Microbiology for Carbon Sequestration.”
Dr. Johnson’s research has developed technologies and recommendations for managing compost and soil microbiology for improved soil fertility plus significant increases in carbon sequestration. This clearly has major importance for agricultural productivity as well as addressing agricultural impacts on climate change. Dr. Johnson will also be a keynote speaker at the Biodiversity 4 Climate Conference on Nov. 18-19 in Cambridge, MA. He will also be speaking to several classes on campus on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
The event is Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 2-3:00pm in the G Building, Staff/Faculty Lounge. For further information please contact Jim Corven at james.corven[at]bristolcc.edu
