December is full of traditions – wreaths, lights, trees and cookies. We hope you do include buying local as part of your holidays. Our updated Winter Farmers Market Guide is available to help you and you can find a complete list of local buying options in our Local Food Guide –on paper at a farmstand near you or here in PDF form. Our support for the local farming community is vital for their success. And it’s satisfying to buy from people you know.
We had a terrific time at our Annual Meeting last month at Groundwork in New Bedford visiting with current members and meeting new ones. The yummy food came from dNB Burgers, the beer from Berkley Beer and the delicious wines from Salt Creek Winery. We are grateful for their support! SEMAP’s Annual Meeting is set up to be an opportunity for networking, socializing, and learning. View photos from this year’s Annual Meeting here. If you didn’t attend this year, consider it for next year! Or join us at a board meeting. SEMAP Board meetings are open to members. Our next meeting is Thursday, January 11th at 7:00 pm at Groundwork in New Bedford.
We’re looking ahead to our 11th Annual Ag & Food Conference on February 25th at Bristol Aggie. Mark the date on your calendars!! The conference committee is hard at work choosing presenters and workshops but it is the feedback from the Southeastern Massachusetts community that makes this conference unique. Let us know if there is a workshop you’d like to offer or suggest a workshop you’d like us to hold.
Now is the best time to get in on the 2017 pricing for the Ag & Food Conference sponsorship. Over 250 people attend each year and it is a great way to promote your organization or business to like-minded folks. Sponsorship is crucial for the success of the Conference and helps keep it affordable for attendees.
We wish you a very happy holiday!
